On the Queensboro Bridge

A Short Film

On the Queensboro Bridge

A quiet study of distance, memory, and the city between two people — set against the iron spine of the Queensboro Bridge.

Synopsis

One evening. On the Queensboro Bridge, which connects Queens and Manhattan, two strangers meet. Queensboro Bridge follows the slow opening of hearts in a chance encounter between two immigrants in the unfamiliar land of New York. Different languages, different lives — yet on this bridge, there exists only the single purpose of crossing.

Director's Note

Queens carries a powerful symbolism as a sanctuary where diverse waves of immigrants have laid down their roots, and our film unfolds against the backdrop of the Queensboro Bridge, which links Queens and Manhattan. Steel, sodium lights, and the low, muffled hum of traffic. We captured our frames at the very edges of the day, a transient hour when the city is neither truly itself nor anything else. This film serves as a metaphor for how we all navigate the bridge of life — flowing forward through the same passage of time, bound by a shared and familiar ache.
